Turkey arrests 5 suspects, seizes 40 kg of explosives
Operation against PKK terror group launched in southeastern Mardin province

MARDIN, Turkey (AA) - A counter-terror operation in Turkey has led to arrest of five suspects and the recovery of 40 kilograms (88 pounds) of explosives, according to a security source on Thursday.
Top prosecutors in southeastern Mardin province launched an investigation against the PKK terror group and simultaneous operations conducted in the Nusaybin district, the source said, asking not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Five people were arrested on suspicions of aiding and abetting PKK terrorists.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
