ANKARA (AA) - A Daesh/ISIS terrorist, sought by Interpol with a red notice, was arrested in the capital Ankara, a security source said on Tuesday.

Counter-terrorism police teams found that French national Sarah Talib, who left her country and joined the Daesh/ISIS terror group and is wanted by Interpol, was in the Turkish capital, according to information obtained by Anadolu Agency.

It was found that Talib was trying to contact the French embassy with an aim to return to her country, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The terror suspect was nabbed only 200 meters (656 feet) away from the French Embassy in Ankara.

The source said Talib will be deported following interrogation.

Turkey was one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS as a terror group in 2013.

The country has since been attacked by Daesh/ISIS terrorists multiple times. The terror group has carried out at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed attacks, killing 315 people and injuring hundreds more.

In response, Turkey launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
