KILIS, Turkey (AA) - Turkey on Tuesday arrested a foreigner for allegedly being a member of Daesh terrorist organization, according to a police source.
The U.K. national of Iranian origin was held at the Turkish-Syrian border while he was trying to enter Turkey, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The suspect was remanded in custody by the court.
More than 300 people have been killed in attacks claimed by Daesh in Turkey, where the terrorist organization has targeted civilians in suicide bombings and armed attacks in recent years.
Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart Daesh attacks.
