Turkish Foreign Ministry condemns terror attack in Kabul that killed 3 people

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey on Thursday strongly condemned a terror attack in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul which killed at least three people.
“We condemn the terror attack perpetrated today at a commemorating ceremony where high level personalities were present in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan,” said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.
“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, speedy recovery to the wounded, and convey our condolences to the friendly Government and the brotherly people of Afghanistan,” the statement added.
Top politicians including former President Hamid Karzai were present at the event organized to mark the 24th death anniversary of ethnic Shia Hazara politician Abdul Ali Mazari.
A number of current presidential candidates such as Mohammad Haneef Atmar, Abdul Lateef Pidram and Ahmad Wali Masoud were also present at the open air facility.
Daesh, through its Amaq propaganda website, claimed responsibility for the attack aimed at the Afghan Shia Hazara community.
