ANKARA (AA) - Turkey on Tuesday condemned two recent terrorist attacks which took place in western-central Africa and western Africa.

"We condemn the terrorist attack which was perpetrated near the town of Daboua, close to the Chad-Niger border, causing the loss of lives and injury of many people," said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.

The statement added: "We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in this deeply sad and outrageous attack, a speedy recovery to the wounded, and offer our condolences to the people and government of Chad."

Last Thursday, the terrorist group Boko Haram killed at least 18 people and abducted 10 women in the town of Daboua along the border between Chad and Niger.

In a separate statement, the ministry said: "We are saddened by the terrorist attack targeting Malian security forces in Mali's Segou region."

"We condemn this heinous attack and offer our condolences to the people and government of Mali," it said.

At least one Malian soldier and 11 terrorists were killed in the ambush in the West African country’s Segou region, Malian authorities said.

The attack came just days before Mali's presidential elections set for Sunday.
