At least seven people, including four policemen, were killed and 24 others injured in twin terror attacks, including a suicide bombing, in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday morning.

In the first incident, gunmen opened fire at a police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which borders neighboring Afghanistan, killing two policemen, city police chief Saleem Riaz told reporters.

Half an hour later, a suspected woman bomber detonated herself outside a government hospital where the victims of the gun attack were taken for treatment, the police official said.

Five people, including two police personnel, were killed and 24 others were injured in the suicide bombing, Riaz said.
