Turkey congratulates formation of new Bosnian gov't

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey on Monday congratulated the newly-established government of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We welcome the formation of the state level government in Bosnia and Herzegovina following general elections held on 7 October 2018 and a process that lasted over a year, and wish success to the new government," Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a written statement.

It added that Turkey would continue to support development and prosperity efforts by the new government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The largest Bosniak, Serb and Croat parties agreed to form a new government in Bosnia and Herzegovina last month.

The Balkan country was without a government since October last year, when general elections were held.

The tripartite presidency of the country, which consists of Bosniak, Serb and Croat members, gave the mandate to form a new government to Zoran Tegeltija from Serb party Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD).
