Turkey distributes food assistance to Sudanese citizens

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) – The Turkish Red Crescent has distributed food parcels to workers of the Police Hospital in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

"We came today to distribute 150 food parcels to the staff of the hospital on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan,” Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu told Anadolu Agency.

The diplomat said Turkish charity organizations distribute more than 1,000 food parcels every day in Khartoum and other cities.

"We love you and we try as hard as possible to stand by you and assist you,” Neziroglu addressed the hospital’s workers. “In the near future, we will extend our support to all areas of Sudan."

Turkey’s charity organizations are active in Sudan and provide regular support in different fields to the Sudanese people in an effort to address their needs amid a deterioration in the country's economic conditions.
