ANKARA (AA) - At least 30 Sudanese civil servants working at Khartoum’s numerous ministries participated in a five-day training program in the Turkey’s capital Ankara that concluded on Thursday.

The program, organized by the Labor and Social Security Training and Research Center (CASGEM) of the Turkish Labor Ministry, included courses on employment policies and principles along with work safety and security.

Abdurrahim Senocak, head of CASGEM, told Anadolu Agency that the training courses were part of a project aims at sharing the Turkish employment experience with the neighboring and friendly countries.

“The hosting of the Sudanese public servants came as an outcome of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Khartoum in 2017 and in line with the increase in bilateral cooperation,” he added.

Senocak went on to affirm that Sudan’s public servants were made part of the program since Turkey sees the African country as “a brotherly and a strategic partner.”

Badreddin Bakheit, the head of the Sudanese delegation, thanked the Turkish government and CASGEM administration for conducting the training program.

“We are here to exchange our experiences with the Turkish brothers and benefit from the progress and development achieved by Turkey in the recent period,” Bakheit told Anadolu Agency.

In 2017, Erdogan paid a historic visit to the Sudanese capital Khartoum where he met with his counterpart Omar al-Bashir and other officials.

Turkish and Sudanese experts agree that the bilateral ties rose to a “new level” after Erdogan’s visit to Khartoum, where the two sides signed 22 agreements of cooperation on a wide range of fields.
