By Bilal Acar
ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s justice minister said on Thursday that the basic philosophy of a new document on judicial reform would be to ensure justice that "inspires confidence".
"The document is a roadmap, which is more liberal, which further develops democracy, and brings rights and freedom under further protections," Abdulhamit Gul said at a gathering in the capital Ankara.
Gul underlining that the Judicial Reform Strategy Document had been prepared over a nine-month period with the participation of "many segments of society", taking into account "every opinion, every idea, all concerned and all stakeholders."
He added that the document had benefited from data gathered in surveys carried out across the country.
Reiterating that Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will unveil the document on May 30, Gul indicated that the reforms would not be final, and that new ones could follow in the future.
