Turkey offers condolences over Liberia school fire

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey extended condolences to the Liberian people and government over a school fire on Wednesday that claimed the lives of at least 27 students.

“We are deeply saddened to hear that many students lost their lives in a fire that took place at a boarding school for Muslim students in Paynesville, Liberia,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and Government of Liberia and wish speedy recovery to the wounded,” the statement added.
