ISTANBUL (AA) – A suspect allegedly affiliated with the PKK terror group was arrested in Istanbul on Friday, according to a security source.
The individual, identified by the initials H.K., was arrested in a cell house of the terror group in Istanbul’s Sisli district, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The suspect is believed to have organized and been part of multiple activities and demonstrations for the terror group, the source added.
A gun, a blank gun, multiple bullets, organizational documents, and digital materials were also seized during the operation.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
