Turkey: Red meat production in Q2 over 255,000 tons

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey produced 255,455 tons of red meat in the second three months of this year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Friday.

The country's red meat production fell by 4.1% year-on-year in the second quarter and it was up 20.8% on a quarterly basis.

Turkey's estimated cattle meat production was around 224,000 tons while sheep meat output was nearly 30,600 tons from April to June, TurkStat data showed.

Last year, the country produced 1.12 million tons of red meat, a drop of 0.7% from production in 2017.
