Turkey sees fall in unemployment in April
Month-on-month, year-on-year drop in rate of unemployment, official figures show
ANKARA (AA) - Unemployment in Turkey showed a fall in April, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said Friday.
The unemployment rate dropped to 9.3 percent from 9.6 percent in April last year and also fell month-on-month from 10.1 percent in March this year, according to TurkStat data.
The report said 27,638,000 people were employed in April from a potential labor force of 30,462,000.
It also showed that youth unemployment fell by a percentage point year-on-year.
