Turkey sends aid to Iraqi Turkmen displaced by Daesh

KARBALA, Iraq (AA) - The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has stepped up food aid to Turkmen families who have been displaced by the Daesh terrorist group in Iraq.

Hundreds of Turkmen fled the cities of Mosul and Tal Afar after Daesh overran much of northern and western Iraq in mid-2014.

After fleeing these cities, many displaced Turkmen took refuge in Baghdad, Karbala and Iraq’s Babil province.
