Turkey to build vocational centre in Pakistan

TIKA and Pakistan sign agreement to establish center in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) - Turkey and Pakistan on Wednesday signed an agreement to establish a state-of-the-art center of excellence in capital Islamabad.

The centre at the National Skill University will provide vocational training and tourism education.

The agreement was signed by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) President Serdar Cam, Pakistani Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and National Vocational Training Centre Chairman Javed Hassan.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Cam said this institution would help our Pakistani brothers and sisters to receive quality education.

"I am very happy today to sign this agreement which will help to boost education and tourism in Pakistan," Cam said.

Pakistan's education minister thanked Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish government and TIKA for approving the mega-project.

"I am very thankful to the Turkish leadership which is establishing a state-of-the-art hospitality institution in Pakistan which will help to our young men and women to receive quality education and training," Mahmood said

Turkish ambassador to Pakistan Mustafa Yurdakul highlighted brotherly relations between the countries and said Ankara is always happy to help Pakistani brothers and sisters.

"It is the duty of the Republic of Turkey to stand with Pakistan in provision of high quality education to its people," Yardakul said.
