DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) - A Turkish security guard who was injured by a terrorist PKK attack last week succumbed to his wounds in Ankara on Wednesday.
Murat Bartev joined his two colleagues who were martyred late Saturday by a PKK-planted explosive in the southeastern Diyarbakir province.
Despite their efforts, doctors at Ankara's Gulhane Hospital were ultimately unable to repair the injuries Bartev suffered in the attack.
Bartev will be buried in a cemetery in Diyarbakir’s Onbasilar district.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
