MANISA, Turkey (AA) - Turkey’s seventh city hospital in the Aegean province of Manisa will be put into service as of Oct. 27, according to provincial health director.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Necip Yemenici said the construction of the Manisa City Hospital, which has 122 intensive care units, 19 operation theaters, 156 polyclinic rooms and 558 bed capacity, has been completed after two years’ effort.

He said it was one of the dream projects of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The hospital, which has a 178,000-square meter (nearly 1,916,000-square feet) area, was built with a €235 million ($267 million) investment with public-private cooperation.

With the newly completed hospital, bed capacity of state hospitals has reached 1,000 in Manisa.

The other six city hospitals are in Adana, Mersin, Isparta, Yozgat, Kayseri and Elazig provinces, the health director said.

He stressed that Turkey made a big progress in health service.

“Due to the high number of single rooms, our citizens will receive a health service in five-star hotel comfort,” Yemenici said.

“In addition, having many beds in intensive care units is also a big advantage,” he added.

Turkey’s city hospitals, also known as city hospital complex, offer a modern healthcare environment with a diverse array of high-quality facilities, including five-star hotel accommodations.
