Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul closes Tuesday with losses

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index ended Tuesday with losses to close at 1,850.48 points.

After starting the day at 1,902.35 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 46.65 points, or 2.46%, from Monday's close of 1,897.13 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,820.25 by the day’s end, up from $1,809.40 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 1% to $78.99 per barrel as of 6.23 p.m. local time (1523GMT).
