Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes up

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 100,278.37 points on Thursday, up 0.20%.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 100,618.07 points. As of closing, it had gained 200.9 points from the previous close of 100,077.47 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,538.00 by market close, up from 1,534.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $62.10 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Thursday.
