Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul closes Wednesday with losses

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,804.15 points on Wednesday, ending with losses for the fourth consecutive trading day.

Starting the day at 1,832.14 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped by 87.87 points, or 4.64%, from Tuesday's closing of 1,892.02 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,792.25 by the day’s end, slightly down from $1,793 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.5% to $74.33 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).
