Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul down 1.2% at Friday's close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,384.68 points on Friday, down 1.2% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,394.95 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 16.78 points from Thursday’s close of 1,401.46 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,747.50 by market close, down from $1,773.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.9% to $77.96 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).
