Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down 1.44% at Wednesday's close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,433.85 points on Wednesday, down 1.44% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,455.18 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 20.89 points from Tuesday's close of 1,454.74 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,798 by market close, down from $1,810.85 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $72.47 per barrel with a 1.1% gain as of 6.34 p.m. local time (1534GMT).
