Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at close

BIST 100 index loses over 1,600 points from Tuesday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index dropped by 1.92% to close at 83,675.33 points on Wednesday.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 85,041.93 points and lost 1,634.25 points from Tuesday's close of 85,309.58 points.

In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,278.00 by market close, up from $1,273.00 the previous day.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $71.10 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Wednesday.
