Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at close

BIST 100 falls nearly 1,900 points compared to Monday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index dropped 1.91% to close Tuesday at 96,811.22 points.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 98,724.81 points, down 1,884.22 points from Monday's close of 98,695.44 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,391.00 by market close, down from $1,404.95 at the previous close, according to Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets data.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $64.15 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Tuesday.
