Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at Tuesday open

BIST 100 index loses over 3 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,451.06 points on Tuesday, down 0.22% or 3.19 points from the previous close.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went down 0.45% to 1,454.25 points, with a daily trading volume of 13.5 billion Turkish liras (over $1.61 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.4900 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.3980 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange also increased to 10.3000 versus 10.1700, while one British pound traded for 12.0200 Turkish liras, up from 11.8710.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $73.16 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
