Turkey's Borsa Istanbul ends Monday up
BIST 100 gains 69 points from last year's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the first transaction day of the year at 1,926.66 points on Monday, up 3.71% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,871.25 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 69.01 points from the previous year's close of 1,857.65 points.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,830 by market close, down from $1,824.65 at Friday's close.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $78.5 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
