Turkey's Borsa Istanbul flat at open

BIST 100 index rises nearly 60 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.06% or 59.91 points to open at 92,309.71 points Tuesday.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased by 1.61% to close at 92,249.80 points with a daily trading volume of 5.9 billion Turkish liras ($1 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.8730 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Monday's closing rate of 5.8660.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.6010, versus 6.5970.

One British pound traded for 7.3770 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.3980 at market close on Monday.

The price of Brent oil was around $60.70 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
