Turkey's Borsa Istanbul flat at Tuesday open

BIST 100 index slightly down 1.09 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,526.36 points on Tuesday, slightly down 0.07% or 1.09 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 3.81% to close at 1,527.45 points on Monday, with a daily trading volume of 25.6 billion Turkish liras ($3.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.3000 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from 7.2370 at Monday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 8.7800 versus 8.7260, and one British pound traded for 10.1400 Turkish liras, compared to 10.1120 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $62.88 as of 10:00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
