Turkey's Borsa Istanbul flat at Tuesday open

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index slightly up from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,392.84 points on Tuesday slightly up 0.02% or 0.27 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.75% to close at 1,392.57 points on Monday, with a daily trading volume of 18 billion Turkish liras (nearly $2.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.2500 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from 8.1850 at Monday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 9.7100 versus 9.6500, and one British pound traded for 11.3500 Turkish liras, compared to 11.2500 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold at around $64.75 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
