Turkey's Borsa Istanbul stocks down at daily close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday with a 0.61-percent decline to close at 103,762.46 points.

After opening the day at 104,652.83 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 632.27 points from the previous close.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 5.2600 as of the daily close, versus 5.2680 at Monday's close.

One euro traded for 5.9430 liras, compared to 5.9620 at the previous close.

The British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.7920 by market close, down from Monday's close of 6.8030.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,311.80 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, up from $1,307.50 at the previous close.

With a day range of $61.52 to $63.34, the price of Brent oil was around $63.12 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Tuesday.
