Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up 1.06% on Tuesday opening

Index increases over 1,180 points versus Monday's close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index was up 1.06%, or 1,181.30 points at 112,594.00 points on Tuesday.

On Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went down 2% to close at 111.412,70 with a daily trading volume of 10.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9610 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, down from 5.9740 at Monday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate saw 6.6690, versus 6.6860 , and one British pound traded for 7.8600 Turkish liras, while it was 7.8720 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $ as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
