Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day with an increase of 0.78% at 96,031.83 points on Tuesday.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 95,461.86 points. As of closing, it gained 745.65 points from Monday's close of 95,286.18 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,503.15 by market close, up from $1,496.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $59.25 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Tuesday.
