Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Monday's opening

BIST 100 index gains over 2 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,436.85 points on Monday, up 0.15% or 2.09 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.21% to 1,434.76 points at last week's close, with a daily trading volume of almost 14.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.6280, versus 8.6270, as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT).

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 10.1560, slipping from 10.1610, while one British pound traded for 11.9830 Turkish liras.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $69.08 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
