Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index was up 0.72%, or 890.02 points, standing at 120,170.89 in Tuesday's open.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.42% at 119,280.87 points, with a daily trading volume of 19.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 6.8570 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 7.8460 from 7.8280, and one British pound traded for 8.7030 Turkish liras, versus 8.6880 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $43.56 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
