Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open

BIST 100 index rises over 390 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.46% or 393.07 points to open at 84,989.23 points Friday.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose rapidly by 1.10% to close at 84,596.16 points with a daily trading volume of 5.3 billion Turkish liras ($858.4 million).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 6.1040 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Thursday's closing rate of 6.1320.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell to 6.8380, versus 6.8490 at the previous close.

One British pound traded for 7.7580 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.7610 at market close on Thursday.

The price of Brent oil was around $68.50 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
