Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open

BIST 100 index rises over 430 points from last week's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.50% or 433.26 points to open at 86,505.55 points Monday.

On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped by 1.74% to close at 86,072.28 points with a daily trading volume of 6.39 billion Turkish liras ($1.05 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate remains unchanged at 6.0750 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus the last week's closing rate.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 6.8120, compared to 6.8000 at the previous close.

One British pound traded for 7.7580 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.7010 at market close on Friday.

The price of Brent oil was around $67.50 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
