Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open

BIST 100 index rises over 550 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.65% or 554.11 points to open at 86,099.52 points Tuesday.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreased by 0.61% to close at 85,545.4 points with a daily trading volume of 3.8 billion Turkish liras ($631 million).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.0690 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Monday's closing rate of 6.0570.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.7910, versus 6.7830 at the previous close.

One British pound traded for 7.7140 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.6850 at market close on Monday.

The price of Brent oil was around $68.52 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
