ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.38% or 366.87 points on Friday to start the day at 96,201.31 points.
At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.80% at 95,834.44 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 6.6650 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, versus 6.6820 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 7.2830, compared to 7.3150, and one British pound traded for 8.3220 Turkish liras, versus 8.3490 at Thursday's close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $31.80 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
