Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday open

BIST 100 index gains over 4 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,402.88 points on Tuesday, up 0.31% or 4.36 points from the previous close.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went up 0.54% to 1,398.52 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 8.7600 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.7670 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also declined to 10.4300 versus 10.4494, while one British pound traded for 12.1800 Turkish liras, down from 12.1975.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $75.20 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
