Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Wednesday open

BIST 100 index gains 9.98 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,538.80 points on Wednesday, up 0.65% or 9.98 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was slightly up 0.09% to close at 1,528.82 points on Tuesday, with a daily trading volume of 39.95 billion Turkish liras ($4.77 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.3450 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from 7.3270 at Tuesday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 8.8800 versus 8.8270, and one British pound traded for 10.2700 Turkish liras, compared to 10.2290 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for around $63.10 as of 10:00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
