Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at weekly close

BIST 100 earns more than 790 points, while Turkish lira gains in value against foreign currencies

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.78% to close Friday at 102,837.19 points.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 102,272.12 points. As of closing, it gained 792.2 points from Thursday's close of 102,044.99 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,418.00 by market close, down from $1,432.10 at the previous close, according to Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets data.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $63.20 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Friday.
