Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul up by 2.24% at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 1,409.19 points, up 2.24% from the previous day.

After starting the day at 1,384.90 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 30.82 points from Tuesday's close of 1,378.37 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,740 by market close, up from $1,728 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was $66.07 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT) on Wednesday.
