Turkey's parliament speaker to visit N. Cyprus

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop will pay his first visits to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Azerbaijan.

Sentop, elected as speaker on Feb. 24, will pay an official visit to both countries on March 5.

Sentop, a lawmaker from northwestern Tekirdag province, received 336 votes in the third round of voting in the 600-seat Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

The ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party and opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) lawmakers backed him during the vote.
