AZAZ/ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's volunteer doctors have treated 2,500 Syrians living in refugee camps, an association official said Monday.

A team of 67 people, including doctors and healthcare professionals, provided refugees in Mukaveme camp in Azaz town in Syria's Aleppo with primary and secondary care on April 7-8.

The "Healing with Goodness" project was carried out by Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Association.

Clothes, shoes, coloring books, balloons, chocolates and waffles were distributed to the children who were examined.

The team also treated children in the Igde camp where mostly Syrian Turkmens are residing. Doctors and healthcare professionals also circumcised 40 children.

A total of 7,000 people from the two camps have been provided medical services at nine different branches, said Hamza Tugbay Ataman, general director of the association.

He added 173 dental treatments were carried out and 6,000 medicines distributed.
