ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) on Wednesday delivered food to civilians in Syria's northwestern Afrin district.

As part of Operation Olive Branch launched on Jan. 20, Turkish Armed Forces, along with Free Syrian Army, cleared the town center from YPG/PKK-Daesh terrorists.

In a written statement, the IHH said the agency delivered food including bread, water and canned pasta, to some 2,000 families.

Ali Imran Durman, IHH's Syrian branch press coordinator, said the aim of the agency is to deliver urgent aid to civilians in Afrin.

"The most urgent need here is bread, water and food. We are trying our best to deliver this kind of aid since the town center was liberated," he said.

IHH sends 30 tons of bread to families in Afrin every day, and caters to their urgent needs.
