Turkish agency realizes dozens of projects for Turkic Council members

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's body for Turks abroad and related communities carried out dozens of projects in Turkic Council member states to develop cooperation and rebuild common values.

The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) said in a written statement that along with the support of 60 activities and projects for Turkic Council member states, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in education, youth, transportation, health, economy, justice, academia and culture, YTB also realized 45 joint projects in member states.

It has implemented important projects spanning from the economy, energy, transportation, judiciary, health, education, culture, youth and diaspora to develop cooperation with member countries and rebuild common values.

-Turkiye Scholarships

As a part of the Turkiye Scholarships program, so far, YTB has provided scholarships to 5,951 people from Azerbaijan, while 478 students from Azerbaijan are currently studying in Turkey.

The Turkiye Scholarships program, also known as Turkiye Burslari, offers a range of programs designed for each level of study, including undergraduate, graduate, research and language education opportunities at the most prestigious universities in Turkey for international students and researchers.

Also, 5,586 students from Kazakhstan, 4,620 from Kyrgyzstan and 2,518 from Uzbekistan were provided scholarships, while 508 students from Kazakhstan, 246 from Kyrgyzstan and 220 from Uzbekistan are continuing their education in Turkey.

A total of 75,354 applications from member countries were received and 18,675 successful students were provided scholarships, while 12,893 have graduated and 1,452 students are continuing their education in Turkey in scholarships programs.

Additionally, YTB implemented dozens of projects for international alumni from Turkish universities.

Also, the works and cooperation were carried out in the Turkish diaspora with the support of YTB.

Higher education scholarship programs provided by Turkey were branded "Turkiye Scholarships" in 2012.

More than 165,000 applications from 178 countries were received in 2021.
