ANKARA (AA) - The Turkish state development aid agency has trained healthcare workers in the central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan, it said on Monday.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) said in a statement that the agency trained 37 healthcare professionals in Jalal-Abad, central-western Kyrgyzstan, and 48 others in the southern city of Osh.

The training was organized by TIKA, the Kyrgyz Health Ministry, and the Istanbul-based Alliance of International Doctors (AID), the statement added.

One subject the participants learned about is neonatal resuscitation, an intervention technique to help a baby breathe and its heart beat after birth.

Established in 1992, TIKA is the leading institution under the Turkish Prime Ministry responsible for the implementation of development projects and programs in more than 100 countries covering health and humanitarian programs, education, and agriculture.
