ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish aid agency IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has opened 32 orphanages in 11 countries in the last 22 years, the agency said Monday.
According to a statement, 2,350 children are housed in the agency’s orphanages in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan, Somalia, Thailand and Uganda.
The IHH, which began operating in 1995, also provides training on memorizing the Quran.
Coordinator Numan Aka said the orphanages aimed to ensure a future and continued education for children.
