BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - A kindergarten in Albania newly renovated by the Turkish state-run aid agency was reopened in a ceremony on Thursday.

The kindergarten, serving about 90 children age 3-6 in Belsh in the city of Embasan, got extensive renovations to its heating system and other facilities as well as new furniture, all thanks to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

Speaking at the ceremony, Turkish Ambassador in Tirana Murat Ahmet Yoruk said that they will spread TIKA's projects to every city in the country.

"We see all of our brothers in Albania as our neighbors in our hearts,” he said.

“Your children are our children," he added.

Belsh Mayor Arif Tafani called the renovation one of the most important investments the city had ever seen.

"Thanks to this investment, the kindergarten has been completely transformed. I express my gratitude to TIKA and to the great and friendly Turkish people.

“Thanks to this investment kids will have an environment with excellent facilities," said Tafani.

Following the ceremony, Yoruk and his delegation met with Tafani and Elbasan Mayor Qazim Sejdini.
